Risk of a Boulder Falling from the Exotic Garden : Hospital Tunnel Closed in Both Directions from 31 July to 2 August

During consolidation work on the Exotic Garden, it became apparent that there is a risk of a 4-tonne boulder becoming detached from the rock face in the long term. The intervention of specialist climbers is therefore required as soon as possible.

This will take place between 31 July at 7.30 a.m. and 2 August at 7 p.m. and will require the road to be completely closed to car and pedestrian traffic in both directions in the Boulevard de Belgique, at the Hospital Tunnel.

Motorists and users of the Monegasque Bus Company who wish to travel to the Princess Grace Hospital will only be able to do so by going up the Avenue Pasteur. Pedestrians will also be able to take the Révoires lift from the Boulevard de Belgique to reach the Boulevard du Jardin Exotique and the hospital lift.

Please note that the parking spaces at Nos. 33, 35 and 37 Boulevard de Belgique will also be suspended during this period.

Finally, a second phase of work to make the boulder secure by pinning will necessitate the introduction of alternating traffic at the tunnel between 3 and 8 August, from 7.30 a.m. to 7 p.m. only, with priority given to emergency vehicles.
