Activities to mark Universal Children’s Day 2017, celebrated on 24 November with a fantastic concert presented by Kids United at Grimaldi Forum, are continuing at the Principality’s Christmas market.

At the initiative of the Department of Education, Youth and Sport, a stand dedicated to children’s rights has been set up at the market this year.

Decorations made by children at the Principality’s primary schools will be offered for sale at the stand between 6 and 19 December.

Monegasque fougasses, cakes and biscuits prepared by students at Monaco’s Vocational and Catering School are also being sold in a continuing show of solidarity.

Proceeds from these sales will be added to the funds already raised as part of Universal Children’s Day 2017, which have made it possible to donate €8,000 to the Princess Charlene Foundation for the Learn to Swim programme, as well as to each of 11 Monegasque partner charities who work to protect children all over the world.

The stand dedicated to children’s rights is open every day from 11 am to 10 pm, and the public will be welcomed by staff and managers from the Prince Albert II Leisure Centre, volunteers from the Monegasque charities partnering this year’s Universal Children’s Day, and staff from the Principality’s schools who have signed up to take part in this initiative.
