Free bus travel trial extended until 2 January 2023 inclusive

The free bus trial introduced by the Prince’s Government from 3 October is to be extended until 2 January 2023 inclusive.

Government departments want more time and resources to collect and analyse all the data showing how the trial has impacted the use of buses operated by CAM, as well as traffic conditions in Monaco, the use of public car parks, and traffic pollution levels. The figures collected will enable decisions to be made in response to the trial’s results.

The aim of this full-scale trial, introduced in conjunction with the National Council and with the support of the Monegasque bus operator CAM, is to encourage the use of public transport in order to ease traffic congestion, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and improve quality of life for residents, commuters, and visitors in Monaco.
