PRESS RELEASE FROM THE MONEGASQUE ANTI-DOPING COMMITTEE

In line with the provisions set out in articles 20.5.3 and 20.6.8 of the World Anti-Doping Code, and keen to pool their joint efforts to strengthen cooperation in anti-doping activities, the Monegasque Anti-Doping Committee, represented by its President, Mr Philippe Orengo, and UEFA, represented by Mr Marc Vouillamoz, Head of the Medical and Anti-Doping Committee, and Mr Giorgio Marchetti, Director of Competitions, concluded a cooperation agreement on 16 September 2016.

This agreement enables the two partners to coordinate their anti-doping programmes and, more specifically, the tests which are administered to players for clubs participating in the 2016–2017 Champions League who appear on the list of players registered for this competition.

It includes carrying out random tests outside competitions, sharing information and data deemed useful for planning doping tests, and also addresses the implementation of biological passports for players under the aegis of the UEFA programme, now in its second season.

The Monegasque Anti-Doping Committee is proud to be one of the 25 European national anti-doping organisations which have signed such an agreement to date.
