Official Visit to the Newly Renovated Gaston-Médecin Hall

Today, an official visit to the Gaston-Médecin Hall took place at the Louis II Stadium.  The visit was held following refurbishment of the infrastructure prior to the 2016/2017 season of basketball team AS Monaco Basket.

Mr. Patrice Cellario, Minister of Interior, was accompanied on this visit by Mr. Paul Masseron, Vice-President of AS Monaco Basket, Mr. Oleksiy Yefimov, Director General of the club, Ms. Isabelle Bonnal, Director of Education, Youth and Sport and Ms. Sylvie Bertrand, Director of the Louis II Stadium.

The aim of the renovation work was to provide AS Monaco Basket with a setting that is appropriate to their needs and the competitions in which they participate (Pro A and the European Cup (Coupe d’Europe):

• The entrance hall has been refurbished;
• The flooring has been renovated and now sports the Roca Team's red and white colours;
• The Press grandstand, which has been moved to below the South grandstand, now has 30 seats;
• New seating, which is automatically retractable, has been installed behind the basketball goals;
• The mezzanine has also been reconfigured and will now house a new grandstand.

At the same time as this visit, a training session, open to the media, was also held.
