In 2008, on the occasion of the 50th birthday of H.S.H. Prince Albert II, all the Monegasque NGOs that are active in the field of humanitarian work and the Monaco Red Cross supported by the Department of International Cooperation were grouped together under the title of the "Monaco Humanitarian Collective". Its main aim was to provide hospital treatment for 50 children whose conditions were inoperable in their countries of origin. Thanks to the money raised, this original aim has been far exceeded.

Since 2008, more than 260 children have already been treated in Monegasque hospitals.
