Palace Guards’ bicentennial celebrations draw to close with gala dinner

  • a military review and church service for St. Sebastian on 20 January;
  • a special concert featuring prestigious artists on 10 March;
  • a Military Force regimental dinner on 12 June;
  • an exhibition at the Prince’s Palace from 13 June to 15 October, entitled “Two Centuries of History (1817–2017)”
  • an appearance by the Palace Guards Orchestra in the Edinburgh Military Tattoo in August, in the presence of H.S.H. Prince Albert II;
  • in collaboration with the Monaco Association of Postcard Collectors, an exhibition of postcards tracing part of the last two centuries, held during Heritage Day on 24 September;
  •  the “Concert under the Pines”, followed by a musical changing of the guard on 27 September;
  • a military review to mark Monaco’s National Day on 19 November, during which H.S.H. the Prince decorated the Palace Guards’ Flag with the Order of the Crown, in the presence of the 17th Parachute Engineer Regiment;
  • finally, a bicentennial stamp was issued by the Monaco Stamp Issuing Office, and 15,000 commemorative two-euro coins were minted.

To bring the various festivities to a close, a gala dinner was held in the Salle des Etoiles on Friday 8 December, attended by H.S.H. the Sovereign Prince.
