The prestigious Ikenobo School will visit Monaco on Sunday 10 June 2018 and will offer a demonstration of Ikebana (Traditional Japanese Floral Art) at the Café de Paris, Salon Bellevue, from 4.30 to 6 p.m.

On the initiative of Monaco Tourism's Representative Office in Tokyo (and jointly with the Monaco-Japan Association), Ms. Senko Ikenobo, Grand Master of the Ikenobo School, has been invited by the Tourist and Convention Authority of the Principality of Monaco to present this traditional Japanese art form, which is now renowned throughout the world.  In addition, Ms. Ikenobo, who has continuously developed and encouraged relations between Monaco and Japan in this field, will create a variety of floral arrangements at this event, which will be on display afterwards in the lobby of the Hôtel Hermitage Monte-Carlo.

More than 50 members, from Japan, of the Ikenobo School, and 30 European members, will be present at this event, in the hope of deepening links of friendship between the two countries still further.

The headquarters of the Ikenobo School are in Kyoto, near the Rokkaku-dō temple, where Ikebana was first created.  This place is at the heart of tradition and is devoted to teaching and presenting the "soul of Ikebana" to an increasing number of people, thus ensuring its longevity and its influence worldwide.
