Monaco: a country of growth
There are probably as many reasons to choose Monaco as there are people who come here to live, work, or invest.
Ten good reasons to choose Monaco
Here are ten of the most cited:
- A sovereign state with stable institutions for over seven hundred years
- An exceptional location, accessibility, and quality of life at the heart of Europe, on the edge of the Mediterranean and close to Nice-Côte d'Azur International Airport
- A close-knit, welcoming, and multicultural community (over 120 nationalities living in harmony) where the English language is widely spoken
- A leisure destination considered the international capital of luxury, thanks to a high-quality infrastructure and shops offering the biggest names in fashion and jewellery
- An original economic and social model, based on appropriate taxation, no public debt, and a stable budget
- A sporting scene that combines daily activities with numerous international events
- A unique level of public safety and high-performance education, social and healthcare systems
- A diversified, forward-thinking economy, driven by expertise from local businesses and a dynamic employment pool and consumer base
- A modern Government that is accessible and responsive to the needs of businesses and individuals
- A long-standing commitment to eco-friendly and sustainable development
To strengthen, support and coordinate this goal, the Prince's Government established the Attractiveness Department, dedicated to welcoming and integrating Monaco's residents, investors, businesses, employees, and tourists in close collaboration with all the ministerial departments and private sector entities that contribute to Monaco's appeal.
There are three main units working alongside and in coordination with the Attractiveness Department on this remit:
The Strategic Council for Attractiveness (CSA)
Created in 2011, the Strategic Council for Attractiveness is involved in forward planning and the strategic direction of the Principality's economic development.
This council, chaired by H.E. the Minister of State, comprises representatives from the public and private sectors. The Secretary General is responsible for implementing these recommendations, which may take the form of white papers, proposals for changes to the legislative framework or action plans.
Monaco Welcome Office
Responsible for welcoming and assisting those who wish to settle in the Principality, the Welcome Office provides all the information needed to complete various administrative procedures, particularly when obtaining a residence permit. The team at the Welcome Office can also put people in touch with the main public bodies that may be able to provide further assistance.
In addition to one-to-one appointments, the Welcome Office offers future and new residents quarterly information meetings at the Foreign Residents' Club of Monaco. These meetings cover all the practical aspects of life in the Principality, from health care to transport and education.
Monaco Private Label
Monaco Private Label has been developing a global network since 2009, helping to raise the Principality's profile. It has nearly 2,000 members, mainly investors and business leaders, from over 60 countries. In addition, the MPL ‘Young Leaders’ group brings together 18-35 year-old children of MPL members who stand to inherit their parents' businesses. More than 140 members from 21 nationalities are securing the next generation of influential business leaders.
MPL members enjoy access to four of the Principality's major events: the Rolex Masters, the Monaco Private Label Summit, the Formula 1 Grand Prix and the Monaco Yacht Show, along with a dedicated hospitality policy.
Monaco Private Label is also supported by a network of experts, the "Friends of MPL".
