Promoting a dynamic employment policy
News posts
The policy pursued in favour of employment contributes to social cohesion and economic development in the Principality. The Prince's Government has made this a strategic priority. It promotes an efficient, attractive, dynamic and inclusive labour market. Its actions aim to provide a range of opportunities while safeguarding employees' rights and promoting quality employment for all.
A structured institutional framework
The Department of Social Affairs and Health leads public policy on social relations and labour law, working to modernise Monaco's legal framework in order to adapt it to current economic and social developments. In this capacity, it promotes constructive social dialogue with social partners and supports employment development in the Principality.
Through its Department of Employment, it puts employment policy into action, actively takes part in social dialogue and makes sure that legal and regulatory provisions are followed, especially those related to working conditions and employee protection in the areas of health and safety.
The Department of Employment authorises hiring and actively contributes to discussions on the evolution of labour law in Monaco.
Concrete actions to promote employment
The Prince's Government actively supports job creation. It pays particular attention to the professional integration of students and young graduates by promoting their access to the job market and supporting their career paths.
At the same time, it encourages dialogue and consultation on continuing vocational training in order to promote the development and adaptation of employees' skills to economic and technological changes. This action is part of a constructive social dialogue conducted in close collaboration with all social partners. It aims to maintain a high level of employment while ensuring a balanced social climate.
As part of this dynamic, since 2023 the Prince's Government has been organising a forum called "Monaco pour l'Emploi" (‘Monaco for Employment), a unifying event that brings together job seekers, recruiters from Monegasque companies and employment experts in the Principality in one place. This event provides a unique opportunity for discussion and networking, enabling participants to discuss career paths and prospects, analyse labour market trends and gain a better understanding of the specific employment conditions in Monaco.
An inclusive and attractive policy
This policy benefits a large segment of the population, reflecting Monaco's openness and influence. Every day, tens of thousands of employees, both residents and cross-border workers, actively contribute to the Principality's economic vitality. In this context, Monegasques are given national priority for equivalent profiles, in accordance with the fundamental principles of employment in the Principality. At the same time, foreign employees are fully integrated into the Monegasque economic fabric and contribute to the development of businesses through their skills and expertise. They benefit from attractive working conditions and a high level of social protection, guaranteeing a secure and stable professional environment.
A commitment to sustainable mobility
Keen to balance economic development with environmental protection, the Prince's Government is investing in eco-friendly solutions to facilitate the daily commute for employees and users. The soft mobility policy is based on the acquisition of railway equipment, the interconnection of fare systems, the development of access routes and car parks, and the provision of a self-service bicycles fleet.
A stronger economic positioning
These initiatives all contribute to the dynamism and attractiveness of Monaco's economy. Together, they reinforce the Principality's position as a centre of economic excellence at the heart of Europe that is capable of combining economic performance, social cohesion, and environmental transition.
