This was followed by a round table entitled “The Role of Women in Monegasque Political and Institutional Life”, which provided an opportunity to hear from:

  • Céline Caron-Dagioni, Minister of Public Works, the Environment and Urban Development, representing the Prince's Government;
  • Marina Ceyssac, High Commissioner for the Protection of Rights and for Mediation;
  • Marjorie Crovetto, Second Deputy Mayor, responsible for Quality of Life, the Environment and Sustainable Development;

Each speaker shared her experience and vision of how to promote balanced participation by women and men in public responsibilities.

The second part of the event was devoted to a collective discussion entitled “Taking Action for Equality”. Participants exchanged good practices, identified persistent obstacles and reflected on ways to further strengthen equality.

Through this initiative, the Principality reaffirmed its commitment to equality and to combating violence and discrimination against women, which are among the thematic priorities of Monaco's Presidency of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe.
