Launch of the Digital Talks Series
The Digital Transition Office (DITN) and the Digital Services Department (DSN) are launching the Digital Talks, a series of conferences aimed at the general public.
At a time when digital technologies are fully embedded in everyday life, certain uses deserve to be explored, explained and discussed collectively. These sessions aim to build digital awareness, shed light on key issues, and encourage exchanges with experts on topics that affect us all.
Designed to be accessible and informal, these events will help participants better understand ongoing changes and their impact on both personal and professional life. Their guiding principle: “Understanding to move forward.”
Throughout the year, a number of practical topics will be addressed, including:
• responsible digital consumption
• understanding artificial intelligence in everyday life
• online safety and personal data protection
• the skills and jobs of the future
• digital culture and everyday uses
The first session will take place on Thursday 9 April at 6:30 p.m., at the premises of Extended Monaco (2 rue du Gabian, Fontvieille). This initial event will focus on social media and digital addiction.
On this occasion, speakers will provide insights into how social media platforms and their algorithms operate, and how they influence the content we consume on a daily basis. The session will also explore the mechanisms that can lead to excessive use and, in some cases, digital addiction.
Experts in public health and addiction will share their perspectives on the impact of these behaviours and offer practical advice on how to adapt habits and better manage social media use.
The conference may be attended in person or online, enabling as many people as possible to take part. Participants attending in person will have the opportunity to continue discussions with the speakers over an informal reception.
Free registration, open to all
