Held as part of the celebrations marking the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the Principality of Monaco and Germany, the bilateral meeting provided an opportunity to reaffirm the strength and excellence of the relationship between the two countries and to discuss a number of issues of mutual interest.

The two Ministers notably highlighted their shared values, the importance they attach to innovation, climate-related challenges, the protection of the oceans, and cooperation on economic, scientific and cultural projects. Mr WADEPHUL also congratulated the Principality on its Presidency of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe and commended its commitment to the accountability mechanism for Ukraine.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation was accompanied by H.E. Lorenzo RAVANO, Ambassador of Monaco to Germany, together with Jean-Laurent IMBERT and Tatiana el KHOURY, diplomats at the Embassy.

Diplomatic relations between the Principality of Monaco and Germany were established in October 1951 with the creation of a Legation, which was elevated to the rank of Embassy in August 1983.

Today, the Ambassador of Monaco to Germany coordinates a consular network comprising six Honorary Consuls (Munich, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Potsdam, Düsseldorf and Stuttgart), who help promote the Principality's reputation and influence throughout Germany.
