Law and Legislation

Monegasque law was originally a statutory legal system based on the Roman tradition. In its modern history, its development has achieved a balance between the influence of statutory law and the judicial creation of case law.

Institutions

The political and institutional regime of the Principality is governed by Constitution of 17 December 1962 (as amended by Act N° 1.249 of 2 April 2002).

The Government

The Minister of State, assisted by five Government Advisors - Ministers, received from the Constitution the high mission of administering the Country.

La Direction des Affaires Culturelles commande une œuvre à de jeunes scénographes afin de mettre en valeur le patrimoine de l’Orchestre Philharmonique de Monte-Carlo

La Direction des Affaires Culturelles a fait appel à deux artistes formés à l’École Supérieure d’Arts Plastiques de Monaco (Pavillon Bosio), Maëva LU-CHI-VANG et Théophile SARGENTI, pour créer une œuvre à l’Auditorium Rainier III à partir de photographies de chefs de l’Orchestre Philharmonique de Monte-Carlo, auparavant présentées le long de la salle Kreizberg. Ces dernières sont issues d’un fonds de la Direction des Affaires Culturelles donné à la Principauté par Bob MARTIN, un artiste aux multiples facettes. À la fois contrebassiste au sein de l’Orchestre et photographe, il a immortalisé, pendant plus de 30 ans, des instants uniques de la vie de l’ensemble.

Caution advised regarding attempted fraud

Since the beginning of 2026, malicious individuals have been impersonating official representatives of the Prince’s Palace using fake WhatsApp profiles. These individuals pose as Palace staff in order to obtain personal information and subsequently request sums of money under the pretext of donations or investment opportunities.
