Law and Legislation

Monegasque law was originally a statutory legal system based on the Roman tradition. In its modern history, its development has achieved a balance between the influence of statutory law and the judicial creation of case law.

Institutions

The political and institutional regime of the Principality is governed by Constitution of 17 December 1962 (as amended by Act N° 1.249 of 2 April 2002).

The Government

The Minister of State, assisted by five Government Advisors - Ministers, received from the Constitution the high mission of administering the Country.

Visite de travail d’une délégation de haut niveau de la Principauté d’Andorre consacrée à la coopération sanitaire

À l’invitation de M. Christophe ROBINO, Conseiller de Gouvernement-Ministre des Affaires Sociales et de la Santé, une délégation de haut niveau de la Principauté d’Andorre*, conduite par Mme Helena MAS SANTURÉ, Ministre de la Santé, et M. Raul FERRÉ BONET, Ministre du Territoire et de l’Urbanisme, a effectué les 5 et 6 octobre 2026 une visite de travail à Monaco.

Modernisation du droit des sociétés et renforcement du droit au compte : deux projets de loi adoptés à l’unanimité par le Conseil National

Le Gouvernement princier salue l’adoption à l’unanimité, lors de la séance publique du Conseil National du 5 octobre, de deux textes importants pour l’économie et la place financière monégasques : le projet de loi n° 1112, portant modification de diverses dispositions relatives à l’expertise comptable, au commissariat aux comptes et aux comptes sociaux, et le projet de loi n° 1124, modifiant la loi du 8 juillet 2020 relative à l’instauration d’un droit au compte.

A New Accommodation Option in Monaco for People with Disabilities

On Monday 5 October, H.S.H. Princess Stéphanie visited the Shared Living Residence (Unité de Vie Partagée), a new accommodation facility created by the Prince’s Government to broaden the range of accommodation available to people with disabilities. Open since 1 July in the Hemera building, the Unit provides an intermediate option between a traditional residential home and fully independent living.
