Coordination and Monitoring Committee for the National AML/CFT-P-C Strategy
The members of the Coordination and Monitoring Committee for the national strategy to combat money laundering, the financing of terrorism and the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, as well as corruption, met on Friday 27 March (first in restricted session, followed by a plenary session), under the chairmanship of the Minister of State.
During these successive meetings, Mr Christophe MIRMAND referred to the adoption of the Principality’s third progress report at the latest FATF plenary session held in February, in which a Monegasque delegation took part, as well as to the forthcoming submission of Monaco’s fourth report as part of the ongoing follow-up process.
The Minister of State also highlighted the positive outcomes of the 6th round MONEYVAL assessors’ training, organised by the Permanent Secretariat for AML/CFT in Monaco from 16 to 20 March 2026, which brought together around forty participants, including five representatives from Monegasque authorities and services.
Beyond the primary objective of removal from the FATF grey list — and from the European Union list — as soon as possible, participants were once again reminded of the need to begin preparing for the Principality’s next evaluation by the MONEYVAL Committee.
The comprehensive review of the legislative and regulatory framework relating to anti-money laundering, the financing of terrorism and the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, as well as corruption, together with the third national risk assessment, will contribute to this objective.
The Minister of State expressed his thanks to the relevant authorities and services, as well as to the National Council and representatives of the private sector, for the efforts made and for the rigour and commitment shown to date, while underlining the importance of maintaining collective engagement and cooperation at the national level in order to address future challenges.
In addition, representatives of the private sector were invited to share feedback on the impact on their activities of Monaco’s inclusion on the FATF grey list and the European Union list.
