Embassy of Monaco in Brussels celebrates the Anniversary of the Accession of H.S.H. Prince Albert II

On 8 July 2026, the Embassy of Monaco to Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands hosted its annual reception at the Embassy in Brussels to celebrate the 21st Anniversary of the Accession of H.S.H. Prince Albert II. The event brought together numerous guests, including Ambassadors, representatives of European and international institutions, members of the political, business and cultural communities, and other friends of the Principality of Monaco.

In his address, Ambassador Frédéric LABARRÈRE highlighted the excellent relations maintained with the three countries to which he is accredited, each of which has a significant resident community in the Principality. He also recalled the long-standing nature of these ties, illustrated this year by the celebrations held in Antwerp to mark the 150th anniversary of Monaco's Honorary Consulate General.

Turning to European affairs, the Ambassador welcomed the quality of the dialogue with the various institutions of the European Union, which continues to develop on the basis of a relationship of trust founded on shared values.

Lastly, as Monaco assumes the Presidency of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe for the first time in its history, the Ambassador also highlighted the key priorities underpinning the Prince's Government's international action: international cooperation, the protection of human rights, environmental preservation and respect for multilateralism. 

Guests were then invited to discover a selection of Monegasque products and culinary specialities specially prepared for the occasion.
