PRESS RELEASE

The slope stabilisation works being carried out above the former Collège Charles III building (Annonciade, La Rousse district) indicate a favourable evolution of the situation.

Communiqué de presse du Gouvernement princier

Seven ground anchors have been installed and tensioned, with a further three scheduled to be installed by the end of the week.

At this stage, it has already been established that pressure on the retaining wall has fallen below the pre-alert threshold.

In parallel, the Government has sought assessments from accredited expert bodies, whose opinions are now expected by the end of the day.

On this basis, the Government will be able to determine whether residents, companies and businesses in the two buildings evacuated at the end of last week may return safely to the premises they previously occupied.

This decision, taken in close coordination with the French authorities (the Prefecture and the Municipality of Beausoleil), could allow reoccupation as early as Tuesday 30 December in the afternoon, with support provided by the relevant public services.

Similarly, traffic on Avenue de l’Annonciade would be restored within the same timeframe.

As regards the resumption of classes for secondary school students, teaching will continue to be delivered remotely, as previously announced, while works are still under way in the building where classes were held.
