On Monday 21 July 2025, shortly after taking his oath of office before H.S.H. the Sovereign Prince and visiting the headquarters of the Police Department, H.E. Mr Christophe Mirmand, newly appointed Minister of State of the Principality of Monaco, made a visit to the Fire and Emergency Service in a demonstration of his commitment to civil protection issues.

H.E. Mr. Christophe Mirmand, accompanied by Mr Lionel Beffre, Minister of Interior, and Colonel Tony Varo, Supreme Commander of the Principality’s Military Force, was greeted by Lieutenant-colonel Laurent Audat, Deputy Chief of the Fire and Emergency Service.

After reviewing the troops, the Minister of State was given a tour of various facilities including the Incident Management and Emergency Operations Command Centre, and inspected equipment at the fire stations in La Condamine and Fontvieille. The visit highlighted the Fire and Emergency Service’s impressive capabilities, ability to respond swiftly to emergencies, and high standards of professionalism.

Afterwards, H.E. Mr Christophe Mirmand and Lieutenant-colonel Laurent Audat both addressed the personnel present. The Minister of State praised their exemplary service to the people of Monaco, and emphasised that “Monaco’s appeal lies above all in its ability to offer a completely safe environment for its residents. That requires constant vigilance, proactive risk management, and a steadfast commitment to the emergency services – all key priorities set out in our Government action plan”.

Before leaving, the officials signed the visitors’ book at Fontvieille fire station.
