On Monday 21 July 2025, after taking his oath of office before H.S.H. the Sovereign Prince, His Excellency Mr Christophe Mirmand, newly appointed Minister of State of the Principality of Monaco, embarked on his first official visits in his new role, beginning at the headquarters of the Police Department.

Accompanied by Mr Lionel Beffre, Minister of Interior, H.E. Mr Mirmand was welcomed by the Police Commissioner, Mr Éric Arella, who introduced him to the people and technology deployed to keep the country safe and secure.

The Minister of State visited a number of strategic locations, including the Guard Room, the Operational Supervision and Command Centre (CSCO), the Forensics Laboratory, and the Residency Section.

Senior officers of the Police Department and personnel from all divisions gathered in the Salon d’Honneur for an address by Mr Arella, followed by a speech by the Minister of State, who underlined that “security is the most important of freedoms, for all other freedoms depend upon it. It is therefore the State’s primary duty, and the Sovereign Prince’s highest expectation of his government in the conduct of Monaco’s security policy.”

* Also present were: Mr Marc Vassallo, Secretary-General of the Government, Mr Christophe Prat, Director-General of the Ministry of Interior, Ms Elodie Kheng, Chief of Staff to H.E. the Minister of State, and Ms Elodie Brimaud, Technical Advisor and Protocol Officer to H.E. the Minister of State.
