PRESS RELEASE

Vaccination Grippe

As autumn begins, the Ministry of Health and Social Affairs wishes to remind Monegasque nationals, residents and social security beneficiaries of the Principality of the importance, for those at risk, of being vaccinated against seasonal influenza and COVID-19.

The target groups for this joint vaccination campaign are:

  • people aged 65 and over;
  • people under 65 suffering from certain chronic illnesses;
  • pregnant women;
  • people living with obesity;
  • individuals staying in a rehabilitation or long-term care facility, or in a medico-social residential establishment, regardless of age.

Vaccines adapted to the circulating strains will be available from tomorrow in pharmacies throughout the Principality. Anyone wishing to be vaccinated may do so directly at the pharmacy or obtain the vaccine to be administered by their general practitioner or a nurse. However, vaccination against COVID-19 by a nurse requires a prior medical prescription.

It should be noted that both vaccinations may be administered at the same time, provided that different injection sites are used.

The Prince’s Government recalls that, to be effective, vaccination against seasonal influenza should be carried out generally before the end of October, ahead of the arrival of influenza viruses.

Finally, vaccination against both seasonal influenza and COVID-19 is covered for social security beneficiaries in the Principality.
