Monaco and the Kingdom of Bahrain strengthen their economic cooperation
On Tuesday 28 July, a Bahraini delegation led by H.E. Noor AL KHULAIF, Minister of Sustainable Development of the Kingdom of Bahrain and Chief Executive of the Bahrain Economic Development Board (Bahrain EDB), visited the Principality at the invitation of Invest Monaco, on the initiative of Ludmilla RACONNAT LE GOFF, Country Chief Officer for Attractiveness.
The visit took place two years after the first economic mission to Bahrain and followed discussions held in Davos in January 2026. The meetings, which brought together representatives from both the public and private sectors, confirmed the positive momentum underpinning the partnership between the Principality of Monaco and the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The delegation was notably received by Isabelle BERRO-AMADEÏ, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, reflecting the importance Monaco attaches to developing this strategic relationship.
Concrete opportunities for Monegasque organisations
On this occasion, Invest Monaco brought together the Principality's leading institutional and economic stakeholders for a programme of meetings designed to strengthen the cooperation already underway.
The Bahraini delegation met, among others, with representatives of the Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer Group, the Yacht Club de Monaco, the Société d'Exploitation des Ports de Monaco, the International University of Monaco, and the Giraudi Group.
A working lunch was also held with the participation of the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation, the Monaco Economic Board, as well as senior executives from the banking sector, consulting firms and companies established in the Principality.
This series of meetings demonstrated Invest Monaco's ability to bring together the Principality's entire economic ecosystem in order to facilitate high-value exchanges between international decision-makers, with the objective of supporting Monaco's economic development.
A shared vision of attractiveness and innovation
Beyond the sector-specific discussions, the visit highlighted the many areas of convergence between the Principality of Monaco and the Kingdom of Bahrain. Both countries share the same vision of economic development, founded on international openness, innovation, institutional stability, excellence in services, and an environment that is particularly attractive to investors and entrepreneurs.
Alongside the visit, H.E. Noor AL KHULAIF and Ludmilla RACONNAT LE GOFF agreed on a joint roadmap between the Bahrain Economic Development Board and Invest Monaco. The two leaders decided to begin work immediately on all the projects identified during the visit, in close cooperation with private-sector partners from both countries.
Regular working meetings will be held over the coming months with the aim of developing concrete projects ahead of a new Monegasque economic mission to Bahrain during the first half of 2027.
Economic diplomacy serving value creation
According to Ludmilla RACONNAT LE GOFF, Country Chief Officer for Attractiveness, reporting to the Minister of State, and CEO of Invest Monaco: "This visit is the natural continuation of the dialogue initiated during our mission to Bahrain in 2024. Attractiveness is built by bringing the right people together at the right time. That is precisely Invest Monaco's mission: connecting decision-makers, linking ecosystems and turning dialogue into tangible projects. By strengthening our ties with Bahrain, we reaffirm our determination to develop long-term partnerships with leading international business hubs for the benefit of the Principality."
