Monaco takes part in 70th Session of Commission on Status of Women
The Principality of Monaco’s Permanent Representation to the United Nations in New York took part in the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW), held from 9 to 19 March 2026.
H.E. Ms Isabelle Picco, Monaco’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations in New York, reaffirmed the Principality’s commitment to improving women’s rights, notably by modernising its legislative framework and adopting measures to tackle all forms of abuse, including economic and emotional abuse. She also emphasised the importance of training for relevant stakeholders to ensure better care for victims and prevent reoffending.
The delegation further highlighted the priority given to these issues under the future Presidency of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe, and the importance of fair and inclusive access to justice.
Monaco also signed a new agreement with UN Women for the period 2026–2029. This contribution will support the organisation’s programmes in the field of sport, a powerful tool for prevention, awareness-raising and changing social norms. Through this renewed commitment, Monaco is once again signalling its determination to promote gender equality and mobilise sport as a means for protection, empowerment and lasting change.
