Police Department New Year Address
The traditional New Year Address by the Police Department was given yesterday, under the authority of H.S.H. Prince Albert II. His Excellency the Minister of State, the Minister of the Interior and Monaco’s most senior officials were in attendance.

The Police Commissioner Mr Eric Arella, who leads a staff of 628 men and women, looked back at the highlights of 2025 and shared some statistics showing a moderate level of crime that is largely under control. He outlined the main areas of progress under the reform plan rolled out after he took up post. He also set out the objectives for 2026: action focused on internal streamlining and modernisation, strengthening of international cooperation and special preparations for major events.
Mr Arella concluded his speech by thanking His Serene Highness Prince Albert II and the members of the Prince’s Government for attending, and for the support shown on a daily basis to the Police Department. He then offered his warmest wishes to everyone in attendance.
