The Government announces the return of residents near the former Collège Charles III
The technical expert reports that were very recently brought to its attention have led the Government, in close coordination with the French authorities (the Prefecture and the Municipality of Beausoleil), to authorise the return of residents, businesses and companies to the premises they previously occupied in the immediate vicinity of the former Collège Charles III building.

Naturally, the Government and its services will continue to carry out the necessary reinforcement works to ensure the long-term stability of the slope overlooking the building.
Seven ground anchors have already been installed and tensioned, with a further three to be installed by the end of the week. Additional monitoring measures will also be put in place in order to continuously assess the situation.
In parallel, the Minister of State has asked the Monaco Fire and Emergency Service to keep an operational plan ready and to provide the persons concerned with guidance notes setting out the appropriate course of action should the need arise.
At the information and discussion meeting held before all those affected left the hotel, the Minister of State reiterated the Government’s and its services’ constant attention to the situation and thanked all the persons who had been displaced for the past six days for their cooperation, without which the operation could not have been carried out under such favourable conditions.
With regard to the resumption of sports, community and recreational activities housed in the former Technical High School building, the Government will take a decision on the basis of the measures communicated to it following the activation of the three additional anchors scheduled for this Friday.
Lastly, in view of the further reinforcement works still required on the retaining wall behind the former Collège Charles III building (Blocks 1 and 2), and the encroachment of these works on the site, upper-secondary students—who will resume classes via remote learning on 5 January—will not return to their former classrooms. The Government is finalising, together with all stakeholders concerned, the installation of classrooms at alternative sites as quickly as possible, in order to allow a return to in-person teaching.
It should also be noted that Avenue de l’Annonciade has been fully reopened to traffic as from Tuesday, 30 December.
