The Government contacts residents living near the former Charles III College

Following on from the measures announced to teachers, parents and staff at Lycée Albert Ier (see our communication dated 20 December), the Prince's Government has contacted residents of nearby buildings affected by the risk of landslides.
In the letter sent to them today, the Minister of State states that the data available to the Government indicates that a critical threshold could be reached, which would justify the implementation of a preventive evacuation of the buildings they occupy.
If this were to be the case, the residents of these buildings would be required to temporarily leave their homes and would be taken care of until the reinforcement work (installation of active tie rods), which has already begun, is completed.
The initial effects of this work will be known from 26 December onwards.
In the meantime, studies are underway to identify a site that could accommodate the pupils of Lycée Albert Ier, whose return to distance learning will only be temporary.
In this context, the Government of the Principality would like to reiterate that no risks will be taken with regard to the safety of pupils, teachers and staff working in these premises, or associations using the school's facilities, or residents of buildings adjacent to the former school.
The Government and the Administration Services are doing everything possible to minimise the inconvenience caused by these precautionary measures.
