A Year of Sporting Success

The 2025–2026 school year confirmed the vitality of Monaco’s UNSS district, which now counts 682 registered members, representing more than 23% of students enrolled in the Principality’s educational establishments. Among the season’s most notable achievements was the qualification of teams from Lycée Albert Ier, Institution François d’Assise – Nicolas Barré and Collège Charles III for the UNSS French Football Championships. Collège Charles III distinguished itself in particular by winning a bronze medal and securing third place nationally.

Further national qualifications were achieved in cross-country running and badminton by Lycée Rainier III, and in rowing by Lycée Albert Ier. Monegasque students also excelled across a wide range of disciplines, including athletics, gymnastics, climbing, basketball, fencing and dance.

The Commitment of an Entire Educational Community

After highlighting that 99 young officials had obtained certification (training enabling them to officiate, referee or help organise school sports competitions), the Department of Education, Youth and Sport paid tribute to the commitment of Physical Education and Sport (PE) teachers, who support students throughout the year and actively contribute to the development of school sport in the Principality.

Through this awards ceremony, the Prince’s Government and the Department of Education, Youth and Sport reaffirm their commitment to school sport and to the values it promotes: respect, solidarity and striving for excellence.
