Monaco Run Gramaglia 2025: what changes will be made to the public highways?

This link between the Principality of Monaco and sport stems from an ambitious policy inspired by its Princes and implemented by the Prince's Government, notably through the development of modern infrastructures, for the general public.

As an international sports hub, the Principality of Monaco hosts a number of prestigious sporting events each year:

  • The Monaco Formula One Grand Prix, created in 1929
  • The E-Prix
  • The Monaco Historic Grand Prix
  • The Rallye Monte-Carlo
  • The Herculis International Athletics Meeting
  • The International Swimming Meeting
  • The Monte-Carlo Tennis Open - Rolex Master
  • The Monte-Carlo International Show Jumping competition
  • The Monaco Classic Week
  • The UEFA Super Cup

In addition to these tournaments, the Principality also hosts several sports-related events, such as SPORTEL, an international trade fair dedicated to the sports media industry. It is also home to the headquarters of major sporting bodies such as World Athletics (formerly the IAAF), the Professional Tennis Association (Europe Zone), the Union Motonautique Internationale, the International Union of Modern Pentathlon and the International Biathlon Union.

This link between the Principality of Monaco and sport stems from an ambitious policy inspired by its Princes and implemented by the Prince's Government, notably through the development of modern infrastructures, both for the general public and for hosting high-level competitions: the Princess Stéphanie gymnastics halls, the Rainier III shooting range, the Louis II Stadium, a vast complex unveiled in 1985 featuring a football pitch, an athletics track, an Olympic swimming pool, a multi-sports hall and numerous specialist rooms, and the Rainier III Outdoor Swimming Stadium. These facilities are being complemented by the new nautical base, home of the Yacht Club de Monaco and the Société Nautique, as well as the ZAC Saint Antoine, which  features a multi-sports hall, a climbing gym, a bowls club and a multi-purpose hall specifically for martial arts.
