The Principality is home to ten state schools: seven nursery and primary schools, one secondary school, a general and technological school and a vocational and hospitality school, as well as two private, denominational schools under contract with the State.
This offer is complemented by private structures or specific entities, such as the International School of Monaco, which offers bilingual education (English-French) from pre-school onwards, or the British School, which enables pupils to continue in the British secondary system via distance learning courses, with the possibility of taking British secondary school leavers' qualifications.
In the artistic field, the Princess Grace Academy provides dance training alongside an academic curriculum from secondary level upwards, allowing dance students to continue their education in their home country's education system.
For sports enthusiasts, the ASM Football Academy enables young people aspiring to become professional footballers to continue their education while intensively practising their sport. The training centre offers general, technological and vocational secondary education.
Higher education courses are also offered at the International University of Monaco (Bachelor, Master, Master of Business Administration and Doctorate in Business Administration, in the fields of management, finance, luxury goods and communication), Monaco Art School, under the responsibility of the Monaco City Hall, which awards higher education diplomas in the arts (DNAP: Diplôme National d’Arts Plastiques - Higher National Diploma in the Visual Arts, DNSEP: Diplôme national supérieur d'expression plastique - Higher National Diploma in Artistic Expression), and the Princess Grace Hospital Nursing Training Institute, which prepares students for the Diplôme d'Etat d'infirmier.
Public secondary schools also offer short post-baccalaureate courses (Brevet de Technicien Supérieur, Diplôme de Comptabilité et de Gestion) in the hotel and service industries.
