Promoting Monaco’s sovereignty abroad
News posts
The sovereignty, independence and influence of the Principality of Monaco are reflected in the many bilateral and multilateral treaties and agreements signed by the Prince’s Government.
A Member State of the United Nations (UN) since 1993, the Principality of Monaco joined the Council of Europe in 2004. Monaco is also a member of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), the International Organisation of La Francophonie (OIF), and the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM).
Since then, Monaco has never ceased to be involved in high-level international processes, where its voice, carried by its diplomatic corps, is heeded.
As far as bilateral relations are concerned, Monaco's main partners are naturally other European countries, in particular France under the Treaty intended to adapt and strengthen friendship and cooperation relations between the Principality of Monaco and the French Republic, dated 24 October 2002, as well as Italy.
Monaco is also developing bilateral relations with numerous countries on all continents.
These various commitments offer Monegasque diplomacy an opportunity to help convey the Sovereign Prince's values and convictions throughout the world. map-marker-info
