Corporate Law and Taxation
Monegasque companies contribute to the public purse through their tax contributions. However, the tax system is designed in such a way as not to hinder their development.
Along with VAT, corporate income tax (ISB) forms the basis of the Monegasque tax system. However, companies that generate more than 75% of their turnover in the Principality are not subject to ISB. In addition, start-up companies are only partially subject to ISB, thanks to an exemption scheme covering the first two years of operation and a gradual increase over the first six years of operation.
At every stage of their development, from preliminary studies to the growth phases, not forgetting the actual set-up, businesses can rely on the Monaco Business Office, established by the Government to ensure an efficient and personalised service. Click here to find out more.
To perfect this system, the Government recently launched a major project to modernise the legal system. The aim is to facilitate the development of businesses in Monaco, in particular, through the stability of an advantageous tax framework, and to support the modernisation of the economy.
