Promoting energy transition and bringing nature back to the city

In Fontvieille, Avenue des Papalins is undergoing redevelopment aimed at sustainably improving the quality of life and user comfort.

Since 2021, the Jardin du Chemin des Sculptures, located in the heart of the Fontvieille district, has undergone major waterproofing works carried out by the State Property Authority. These works were required due to the condition of the underlying infrastructure.The Department of Urban Amenities is now launching the landscaping redesign of the garden, based on plans by Grant & Associates. The project aims to gradually transform what has largely been a transit space into a genuine place to spend time — with more greenery, increased shade and facilities better suited to everyday use.   

Experts from the Biodiversity Working Group of the Alpine Convention, representing Slovenia, Austria, Italy, Switzerland, Germany, France and Monaco, met at the Auditorium Rainier III on 12 and 13 February to finalise the new Alpine Biodiversity Action Plan. The Plan will be submitted for adoption at the Alpine Conference in January 2027.

On Thursday, 29 January, the Théâtre des Variétés welcomed nearly 400 students from across the Principality, who were invited to watch and vote for their favourite short film as part of the Children’s Award of the 15th edition of the Cinema for Change Festival, supported by the Prince’s Government. In the evening, students from the Sciences Po Paris Menton Campus debated and selected their preferred film for the Students’ Award.
