Pollen monitoring network
In late 2021, the Department of the Environment developed a network of sensors to monitor pollen with OBERON SCIENCES.
Allergen risk in the Principality
The measurements taken, when correlated with meteorological conditions, enable the allergen risk to be determined in accordance with the scale opposite.

The main allergen sources are also identified and displayed.
In addition, a forecast of the allergen risk for the following day (D+1) and the day after that (D+2) is made, taking account of the weather forecast.

Advice
If you have allergies:
- Get at least 10 minutes of fresh air every day before sunrise and after sunset
- Avoid drying laundry outside
- Rinse your hair in the evening
- Keep car windows closed to prevent pollens from getting inside
- Avoid exercising outside as this can lead to overexposure
- Check information about air quality as atmospheric pollution can make pollen allergies worse
- Continue to take your medicines and consult your doctor if you have symptoms
