Press release - OECD - Residency

On Tuesday 16 October 2018, the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) published a list of countries offering programmes allowing people to obtain residency or citizenship through investment.

The list included the Principality of Monaco, although the country’s laws and regulations do not include any procedure for obtaining residency or citizenship in exchange for a financial contribution.

The Prince’s Government reacted immediately to the publication of the list by providing the OECD with all necessary information.

The OECD subsequently issued, on Wednesday 17 October, a press release acknowledging the points raised by the Prince’s Government and amending the previously published information regarding Monaco accordingly.

The Principality of Monaco does not, therefore, feature on this list of countries offering residency or citizenship in exchange for investment.
