COVID-19: Seventeen New Positive Cases and Thirty-Five Recoveries on Friday 12 February

Seventeen new positive cases of COVID-19 were identified on Friday 12 February.

This therefore brings the overall health figures for the Principality to 1,752 people affected by the Coronavirus since the beginning of the health crisis.

This evening, 57 people are being treated at the CHPG:  48 patients, 28 of whom are residents, are hospitalised.  Moreover, this evening, nine people, six of whom are residents, are in intensive care.

Sadly, a 96-year-old resident who tested positive for the SARS-CoV-2 virus has died.  This is the 21st death of a resident of the Principality in connection with the Coronavirus since the start of the epidemic.  The Prince's Government extends its sincere condolences to the family and friends of this person.  It wishes to assure them of its full support at this time of sorrow.

Today, there are 35 further recoveries to be noted.  The total number of people who have recovered thus amounts to 1,490.

This Friday evening, 117 people are being monitored by the Home Patient Follow-up Centre, which provides medical support to people with mild symptoms, who are invited to self isolate at home.

In line with the practices adopted by the World Health Organization and neighbouring countries in this regard, these daily health assessment figures report only on resident persons affected by the Coronavirus.

From now on, every Friday, the Prince's Government will give a weekly update on the vaccination strategy that has been implemented in the Principality.

The figures below are stated as on the evening of Thursday 11 February:

  • Number of people vaccinated:  7,581, i.e. the equivalent of 19.9% of the population.
  • Number of people who have received the second dose of the vaccine:  3,297, i.e. 43.7% of those vaccinated.
