COVID-19 and seasonal flu: Prince’s Government calls for vigilance ahead of festive period

In light of a new wave of COVID cases in the Principality and the neighbouring region, combined with the beginning of the flu epidemic, the Prince’s Government is launching an appeal for vigilance.

As we approach the festive season, a time of year when we like to get together with our families to celebrate, strict adherence to barrier measures is absolutely vital to effectively prevent winter viruses and avoid a new epidemic wave. The Prince’s Government is therefore strongly advising people to wear a mask if they suspect an infection, and when travelling on public transport or visiting busy tourist or commercial locations.

In addition to these precautionary and protective measures, up-to-date booster vaccinations, particularly for those people who are at risk or aged 60 years or over, remain among the most effective ways of protecting yourself from the most serious forms of the disease. Appointments can be obtained very quickly in the Principality by contacting the COVID Centre on 92 05 55 00 or via the website www.monacosanté.mc .
