"Destination Monaco" is Showcased in South-East Asia

DR

From 9 to 17 October, the South-East Asia office of Monaco Tourist and Convention Authority (DTC) organised promotional events in Vietnam, Indonesia and Singapore.  On 9 October, the Monegasque delegation was at the Hanoi Press Club, Vietnam, on 10 October at the Hyatt Park in Ho Chi Minh City/Saigon, Vietnam, and then the Dharmawangsa Jakarta in Indonesia on 12 October.

These three evenings events, held under the aegis of Guy Antognelli, Deputy Director of the DTC and Benoit Badufle, the DTC's Regional Director for Asia, were an opportunity to present "Destination Monaco" to opinion leaders and obtain the support of the Honorary Consuls, Alexis Delevaux in Vietnam and Princess Karlina Damiri in Indonesia.

This promotional tour continued in Singapore on Saturday 14 October, where the very first "Monaco Film Festival" (from 14-22 October) in Asia was inaugurated, featuring 14 films and documentaries shot in Monaco.

An ambitious communications campaign was designed for this event, including a web site and a Facebook account (30,000 people per day), to give Monaco new visibility in Asia.

Most of the films were screened at the Alliance Française cinema in Singapore, accompanied for the occasion by an exhibition featuring a selection of historical film posters that had never been shown before in Asia.  Finally, a selection of photographs taken in Monaco in May 2017 by Vogue Taiwan magazine, with Asian star Lin Chi Ling, was also on display.

A gala evening was held on 17 October at the Capitol Theatre in Singapore, attended by Jean Marc Deromedi, Honorary Consul of Monaco in Singapore, Corinne Kiabski, Director of the DTC's Press and Communication Department, and many Singaporean celebrities.

During the evening, the 300 guests were shown a selection of films, including the film "Monaco Back to the Future," presented by its director, Christine Oberdorff, who highlighted the Principality's involvement in the environmental field.

The violinist Zhang Zhang was making a cultural link with Monaco, while the screening of "Hand to Collar" closed the Festival.
