On 21 September 2022, the Seventh Replenishment Conference for the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria was held on the margins of the opening of the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York. The conference was held under the high patronage and in the presence of US President Joe Biden.

Alongside representatives from more than 45 countries, multilateral partners, private sector companies, civil society organisations and community organisations, Monaco announced a financial contribution for the period 2023–2025.

At the conference, Ms Isabelle Berro-Amadeï, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, reiterated the Principality’s longstanding commitment and determination to contribute to eradicating these diseases.

The funds raised during this important event should help to save 20 million lives, prevent 450 million new infections, and build a healthier, more equitable world. They will also help to strengthen health systems and improve pandemic preparedness.

Established as a Swiss foundation in 2002, the Global Fund is a partnership designed to fight AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria. It mobilises and invests more than 4 billion dollars each year to support programmes led by local experts in nearly 140 countries. The Global Fund has adopted an inclusive approach, working closely with public authorities, civil society, technical institutions, the private sector and people with the diseases.
