COVID-19: Twenty-Two New Positive Cases and Ten Recoveries on Friday 12 March

Twenty-two new positive cases of COVID-19 were identified on Friday 12 March.

This therefore brings the overall health figures for the Principality to 2,097 people affected by the Coronavirus since the beginning of the health crisis.

This evening, 32 people are being treated at the CHPG:  20 patients, 11 of whom are residents, are hospitalised.  Moreover, this evening, 12 people, five of whom are residents, are in intensive care.

Sadly, a 81-year-old resident who tested positive for the SARS-CoV-2 virus died yesterday.  This is the 27^th death of a resident of the Principality in connection with the Coronavirus since the start of the epidemic.  The Prince's Government extends its sincere condolences to the family and friends of this person.  It wishes to assure them of its full support at this time of sorrow.

Today, there are ten further recoveries to be noted.  The total number of people who have recovered thus amounts to 1,895.

This Friday evening, 91 people are being monitored by the Home Patient Follow-up Centre, which provides medical support to people with mild symptoms, who are invited to self-isolate at home.

In line with the practices adopted by the World Health Organization and neighbouring countries in this regard, these daily health assessment figures report only on resident persons affected by the Coronavirus.

From now on, every Friday, the Prince's Government is giving a weekly update on the vaccination strategy that has been implemented in the Principality.

The figures below are stated as of yesterday evening, Thursday 11 March inclusive:

•          Number of people vaccinated:  8,625, i.e. the equivalent of 22.70% of our population.

•          Number of people who have received the second dose of the vaccine:  7,815, i.e. 90.60% of those vaccinated.
