COVID-19: Twenty-Eight New Positive Cases and Twenty-Three Recoveries on Tuesday 19 January

Twenty-eight new positive cases of COVID-19 were identified on Tuesday 19 January.

This therefore brings the overall health figures for the Principality to 1,240 people affected by the Coronavirus since the beginning of the health crisis.

This evening, thirty-six people are being treated at the CHPG:  twenty-six patients, sixteen of whom are residents, are hospitalised.  Moreover, this evening, ten people, four of  whom are residents, are in intensive care.

Sadly, an 87-year-old resident died last night at the CHPG.  This person had tested positive for the COVID-19 virus and was treated at the hospital.  This is the ninth death of a resident.

The Prince's Government extends its sincere condolences to the family and friends of this person.  It wishes to assure them of its full support at this time of sorrow.

Today, there are 23 further recoveries to be noted.  The total number of people who have recovered thus amounts to 1,036.

This Tuesday evening, 114 people are being monitored by the Home Patient Follow-up Centre, which provides medical support to people with mild symptoms, who are invited to self-isolate at home.

In line with the practices adopted by the World Health Organization and neighbouring countries in this regard, these daily health assessment figures report only on resident persons affected by the Coronavirus.
