Twenty nine new positive cases of COVID-19 were identified on Wednesday 17 February.

This therefore brings the overall health figures for the Principality to 1,816 people affected by the Coronavirus since the beginning of the health crisis.

This evening, 51 people are being treated at the CHPG:  42 patients, 25 of whom are residents, are hospitalised.  Moreover, this evening, nine people, five of whom are residents, are in intensive care.

Sadly, a 88-year-old resident who tested positive for the SARS-CoV-2 virus has died.  This is the 21st death of a resident of the Principality in connection with the Coronavirus since the start of the epidemic.  The Prince's Government extends its sincere condolences to the family and friends of this person.  It wishes to assure them of its full support at this time of sorrow.
