COVID-19: Seventy-Eight New Positive Cases and Two Deaths on Tuesday 11 Januaryr

Seventy-eight new positive cases of COVID-19 were identified on Tuesday 11 January.

This therefore brings the overall health figures for the Principality to 6,165 people affected by the Coronavirus since the beginning of the health crisis.

Sadly, two residents aged 91 and 100 who tested positive for the SARS-CoV-2 virus have died.  Since the start of the COVID-19 health crisis, 44 residents of the Principality have died after contracting the virus.  The Prince's Government recalls the importance of being vaccinated against COVID-19.  Currently, the vaccine is the most effective way of protecting oneself and others.  Vaccination is available free of charge to Monegasques and residents.

The Prince's Government extends its sincere condolences to the family and friends of these people and assures them of its full support at this time of sorrow.

This evening, 34 people are being treated at the CHPG:  29 people, 14 of whom are residents, are provided inpatient care..  Five other patients, one of whom is a resident, are in intensive care.

There are 104 further recoveries to be noted.  The total number of people who have recovered is 5,683.

This Tuesday evening, 239 people are being monitored by the Home Patient Follow-up Centre, which provides medical support to people with mild symptoms, who are invited to self-isolate at home.

In line with the practices adopted by the World Health Organization and neighbouring countries in this regard, these daily health assessment figures report only on resident persons affected by the Coronavirus.
