COVID-19: Ninety-Eight New Positive Cases and 140 Recoveries on Wednesday 19 January

Ninety-eight new positive cases of COVID-19 were identified on Wednesday 19 January.

This therefore brings the overall health figures for the Principality to 7,041 people affected by the Coronavirus since the beginning of the health crisis.

Sadly, a 72-year-old resident who tested positive for the SARS-CoV-2 virus has died.  Since the beginning of the COVID-19 health crisis, 45 residents have died after contracting the virus.

The Prince's Government extends its sincerest condolences to the family and friends of this person and assures them of its full support at this time of sorrow.

This evening, 44 people are being treated at the CHPG:  40 people, 23 of whom are residents, are provided inpatient care.  Four other patients, one of whom is a resident, are in intensive care.

There are 140 further recoveries to be noted.  The total number of people who have recovered is therefore 6,567.

This Wednesday evening, 317 people are being monitored by the Home Patient Follow-up Centre, which provides medical support to patients with mild symptoms, who are invited to self-isolate at home.

In line with the practices adopted by the World Health Organization and neighbouring countries in this regard, these daily health assessment figures report only on resident persons affected by the Coronavirus.
