Covid-19 : Sixty-Four New Positive Cases and 65 Recoveries on Friday 24 December

Sixty-four new positive cases of COVID-19 were identified on Friday 24 December.

This therefore brings the overall health figures for the Principality to 4,670 people affected by the Coronavirus since the beginning of the health crisis.

This evening, 27 people are being treated at the CHPG:  23 people, eight of whom are residents, are hospitalised.  Four other patients, who are non-resident, are in intensive care.

There are 65 further recoveries to be noted.  The total number of people who have recovered is 4272.

This Friday evening, 303 people are being monitored by the Home Patient Follow-up Centre, which provides medical support to patients with mild symptoms, who are invited to self isolate at home.

In line with the practices adopted by the World Health Organization and neighbouring countries in this regard, these daily health assessment figures report only on resident persons affected by the Coronavirus.

With regard to the vaccination strategy, as of 19 December 2021, almost 66,000 vaccine injections had been administered.  66.7% of the resident population eligible for the vaccine (over 12 years of age) has benefited from a full vaccination schedule.  This rate is in excess of 50% for all age groups from 18 years upwards.  It amounts to 77.9% among 55-64-year-olds and is close to 93% among those aged 75 and over.  You can find more detailed figures on IMSEE's website at https://www.imsee.mc/Publications/Rapports-COVID-19
