CORONAVIRUS: seven new positive cases identified in Monaco

The Principality's health authorities were informed on Sunday 5 April that the analysis of seven samples proved positive for COVID-19.

This therefore brings the number of people infected by coronavirus to 73, including three patients who have now recovered.

Fifteen people are receiving treatment in hospital, four of whom are in intensive care.

In accordance with the principle that has been adopted by the health authorities in the Principality of Monaco, only patients with severe COVID-19 symptoms are being hospitalised.

People with mild symptoms are asked to self-isolate at home and will be subject to medical monitoring.  A total of 106 patients are currently being monitored outside hospitals.

The aim of this approach is to avoid overburdening hospital and to offer treatment for such patients in the city, in a way which is easy and comfortable for them.

The Prince's Government recalls the importance of continuing to take action and complying with the precautionary health measures and travel restrictions.
