Mr Jean Castellini, Minister of Finance and Economy, was the guest at a breakfast lecture organised by the Junior Chamber International this morning. The theme was: “Pitch Time: Discover MonacoTech’s Start-Ups!”

In his speech, Mr Castellini set out the various stages involved in the creation and launch of MonacoTech, the Monegasque Government’s start-up incubator/accelerator officially opened by H.S.H. Prince Albert II and Xavier Niel on 8 November 2017. The Minister stressed that “MonacoTech is a space ideally located in Fontvieille, an exemplary model of cooperation between the Government and Monaco Telecom, where young Monegasque national Fabrice Marquet proactively manages both the premises and the 15 projects hosted there. This innovative facility is a fantastic communications vehicle for the Principality.”

Fabrice Marquet, Director of MonacoTech, then talked about the various challenges involved, including attracting genuinely innovative industrial projects, allowing projects time to develop, and creating a true community of entrepreneurs. Finally, the newly established start-ups presented their pitches.
