A Solar Roof for the Firefighters in Fontvieille
As part of the energy transition policy of the Prince's Government, the Public Buildings Maintenance Office has installed photovoltaic panels on the roof of the Fontvieille fire station.
This installation, with a surface area of 490 m², is comprised of 299 photovoltaic panels. It will produce 113 MWh of electricity, fed directly into the fire station's electrical system.
This electricity production will make it possible to reduce the emission of CO2 into the atmosphere by 9.3 tonnes per year and will supply almost 37% of the electricity requirements of the fire station and its 40 accommodation units.
It should be noted that, at 113 MWh, this photovoltaic field will constitute the largest production of renewable energy among public buildings in Monaco.
