Between September 2021 and June 2022, Guillaume Aubry worked with two Year 7 (6ème) classes at Collège Charles III and Collège François d’Assises - Nicolas Barré. After the artist presented his work and his collection of sunsets, the pupils considered his approach and developed their own collection, reflecting that of the artist. They then thought about what name could be given to this type of collecting. As a result, a Wikipedia page devoted to “héliophilie” (“heliophilia”) was created and posted online by the pupils and Guillaume Aubry.

Guillaume Aubry studied at the Paris-La-Villette School of Architecture (DPLG), at the University of Tokyo in Japan, and at the Beaux-Arts de Paris (La Seine postgraduate programme). An artist and researcher, Guillaume is working on a RADIAN practice-led PhD in Artistic Research and Creation, focusing on the most photographed subject in the world: sunsets. Currently in residence at Lafayette Anticipations (Paris) and the Nouveau Musée National de Monaco, he recently published Sunset Cocktails (JBE Books). As part of his research, he draws his images from major works in the history of art, from cinema, from popular visual culture and from photos and videos that he has taken himself to produce his artworks, performances and shows.
