PRINCE PIERRE OF MONACO FOUNDATION Press Release No. 1

Reading Marathon

and Literary Tea

The main aim of the Reading Marathon, which is organised in conjunction with the award of the Literary Prize and the Discovery Grant, is to involve members of the public who use media libraries in Monaco and the surrounding region in the Foundation’s literary activities.

As part of this event, the Prince Pierre Foundation invites readers to attend a Literary Tea at 5 pm on Wednesday 18 September in the Louis Notari Library, a great opportunity to share views on the works and authors selected by the jury this year.

Another highlight will be a meeting with the authors shortlisted for the Discovery Grant at 3 pm on Monday 14 October in the Louis Notari Library.

The authors in contention for the Literary Prize, which honours a renowned writer in the French language for their entire body of work, are:

Christian BOBIN - Linda LÊ - Pierre MICHON - Jean ROUAUD

The shortlist for the Discovery Grant, which rewards an author in the French language for a debut work of fiction, features:

Christine Barthe for Que va-t-on faire de Knut Hamsun ? (What Shall We Do with Knut Hamsun?), Editions Robert Laffont

Jérôme Bastianelli for La vraie vie de Vinteuil (The Real Life of Vinteuil), Editions Grasset

Grégory Le Floch for Dans la forêt du hameau de Hardt (In the Forest of the Hamlet of Hardt), Editions de l’Ogre

Joseph Ponthus for A la ligne (On the Production Line), Editions Table Ronde

The winners of the Prince Pierre Foundation awards will be announced
