Workshops for Young People and Families Resume on June 8 at the Villa Paloma

Following the reopening of the Villa Paloma on Tuesday 2 June, the New National Museum of Monaco is pleased to announce the resumption of its workshops for young people and families.

The workshops will be limited to six participants and must be booked in advance.

Each activity is designed to respect social distancing and the applicable health rules.  Wearing a mask is compulsory from the age of five.  The practical workshops guarantee that the equipment provided is for individual use only and is cleaned after each use.

Workshops for Young People – June Programme

These workshops take place on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.  They are offered at the rate of 15€ per child.

Monday - Multiple Choice Writing

Drawing on simple programming logic, the aim of the workshop is to rewrite a scene from Faust's story by offering alternative endings.

Children aged 12 to 16

Tuesday - Writing Workshop

Based on works in the exhibition, each child will invent a fantasy story inspired by the works on display and will reinterpret them with drawings to illustrate his or her story.

Children aged 8 to 12

Friday - Stop Motion

This workshop addresses the subject of the image and the moving image, based on an IPad app.

After learning about Michel Ocelot and Lotte Reiniger's technique, each child will use cut-out images to create a short animation.

Family Workshops – June Programme

These workshops take place every day except Wednesday from 3 p.m. to 4.30 p.m.  Participation in the family workshops is free of charge after payment of the admission fee, if applicable.  They are suitable for children aged 8 to 12, unless otherwise stated.

Monday - Shoe Collection

Discover Michel Blazy's work, which is on show in the garden of the Villa Paloma, and make your own planters. 

(Bring a pair of old trainers)

Suitable for children aged 4 to 8

Tuesday - A History of Moving Images

Explore the work of Eugene Frey and learn about various moving image techniques.

Thursday - Camera Obscura

Make and experiment with your own camera obscura in the gardens of the Villa Paloma.

Friday - Tales and Legends

Can you identify the stories that are hiding in the rooms of the museum?

Saturday - An Optical Story

Find out how an image is formed in your eye.

Sunday - Treasure Hunt

Find out about the works installed in the gardens of the Villa Paloma.
